  1. Pumpkin Smash / Book UpCycle

    November 1, 2020, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ Rick Sorenson Park

Smash it! Don’t trash it! On Sunday, November 1st, from 1-4 p.m. at Rick Sorenson Park (2015 State Ave.), Anoka’s Waste Reduction & Recycling Board (WRRB) is hosting a Pumpkin Smash. Bring your pumpkins/jack-o’-lanterns to be composted (instead of placing in the garbage). Please remove all candles, decorations, etc. Smash it into the dumpster which will be hauled off to a compost site. Book UpCycle - Coinciding with the Pumpkin Smash, the Anoka Parks & Recreation Department is hosting a Book UpCycle. Over the last few months, we have collected fiction and non-fiction books for all ages to enjoy. Books will have been quarantined for at least two weeks before the event. Come to the Upcycle event and take a few for your reading enjoyment. Please wear a face covering (or your Halloween mask/costume) and practice social distancing. Updates to these events will be posted at anokaminnesota.com and on the City’s Facebook page (@cityofanokamn) as needed.
